Bruce Wayne is Batman's secret identity. He is a wealthy industrialist, playboy, philanthropist, who was inspired to become a superhero after witnessing the murder of his parents as a child. In order to fight crime effectively, he trained himself to be physically and mentally fit, donning a bat-themed costume. Batman operates in Gotham City with the help of his sidekick Robin and butler Alfred Pennyworth. Unlike other superheroes, he doesn't possess any superpowers. Instead, he relies on his intellect, detective skills, science and technology, wealth, physical prowess, and intimidation to fight villains influenced by characters from film and pulp magazines.
