The eldest daughter of the heim family, kihel, chooses to work and gain experience instead of attending university like a wealthy heiress. during an attack by dianna counters first enemy, guin lineford, kihel stays close and uses the opportunity to become his assistant. her new role brings her attention from the leaders of the moonrace. due to her resemblance to dianna soreil, she becomes the queens double and takes on her place at the queens request. however, due to unforeseen circumstances, kihel must impersonate dianna and lead the dianna counter for an extended period. the two switch names and roles several times. despite sharing many qualities beyond appearance and having aligned ideals, kihel has more energy than dianna and does not share her longing for a normal life. she struggles with insecurity about living up to diannas example but manages to mask it well.
