Before joining Red Shield, David was the only survivor of an attack by chiropterans on his special forces squad. His father had also been a member of Red Shield and one of Sayas victims in the Vietnam incident. It is suggested that he and Joel are descendants from a lineage of Red Shield operatives. David has knowledge about Sayas past life and intends to use her against chiropterans. His red crystal item is a cross. David comes across as serious and reserved, yet he also takes on an unofficial guardianship over Kai and Riku. He would play a crucial role in helping Kai accept what Saya and Riku are and become strong enough to support them as their brother despite their unique characteristics.
