The protagonist in question is known as Shiba Ikki and he leads the Kurenai racing gangs. He's a skilled street fighter who doesn't appear to feel pain, which makes him quite formidable. In round one of the tournament, he fights Hatanaka Kouhei and manages to break his own arm as an intimidation tactic before defeating Kouhei with ease. In round two, Shiba faces off against Ian McGregor using shadow bonding techniques. Although he comes close to defeating the boxer, it's ultimately Shiba who emerges victorious by breaking both of McGregors hands with his powerful skull. However, due to injury, Shiba is unable to continue in the tournament and must be replaced by Andre. After recovering from his injuries, Shiba confronts Andre about being replaced and demands an explanation. Unfortunately for him, he's knocked out by Jack Hammer before he can get any answers. Despite this setback, Shiba makes a surprise return in the Son of Ogre series as Bakis training partner at Hanayama Kaorus request. Although Baki is initially hesitant to fight Shiba, he eventually finds a reason to do so when Shiba continues to attack him throughout the day.
