Muten-Rôshi's companion and friend, a turtle who lives in the Kame House with an elderly hermit, has been featured in Dragon Ball Z anime filler during episode 117 where he celebrates his 1,000th birthday. Although he plays a minor role in the manga, he has several significant appearances in the anime. Initially, Muten-Rôshi was found wandering alone and lost on land for over a year after getting separated from his friends while picking mushrooms. Goku kindly returns him to the ocean, which he is grateful for. Umigame introduces Muten-Rôshi to Bulma and Son Goku. While Umigame does not share Muten-Rôshis perverse interests, he enjoys honest ones himself. One of the first animal characters that Goku meets and befriends, Muten-Rôshi is one of the few characters that Goku bids farewell to in the final Dragon Ball GT episode after departing with Shenlong. His power level in the anime is 0.001 as demonstrated during Bulma's test of Raditz' scouter in the Vegeta Saga.
