In the anime series, Isurugi is a dedicated airplane mechanic who works at the 801st. He's known for his enthusiasm and love of airplanes, which he expresses through his work. At the beginning of the show, he joins the team and quickly becomes an integral part of their operations. Isurugi is a positive person with a friendly disposition that keeps the spirits high among his colleagues. He believes that anyone who loves airplanes so much must be good-hearted. Isurugi develops a close relationship with Miyuki, which leads to jealousy from Mitaka. Despite this, Isurugi remains loyal and caring towards both girls. When Mitaka falls ill, he takes care of her and shows his concern for her wellbeing. Eventually, both girls fall in love with him, but Isurugi struggles to choose between them. He ultimately decides that one will be his girlfriend while the other will be his mistress. However, despite this decision, he maintains strong friendships with all the girls and remains positive and upbeat throughout the series.
