Shou Yanagi is a 24-year-old Head Diver who often partners with Kaede Kurenai. Despite appearing calm in front of others, he struggles with psychological trauma from an accident that killed his younger brother while testing early Neuronoid models. The sight of Keita Aono reminds him of his brother, causing him to break down on multiple occasions. Shou is a skilled hypnotist and can put others under his control just by looking into their eyes. He deeply cares for Kaede and marries her after she announces her pregnancy before the final battle. Tragically, he and his wife are killed together when she appears to be taken over by Algernon and kills them both.
