The protagonist of DUAL!, named Kazuki, faces challenges at school because he has recurring visions of giant robots battling in the city. After being mistakenly transported to a parallel world by Ken and Mitsuki Sanada, Kazuki learns that he is the only male capable of controlling mechas. His exceptional piloting skills earn him a position with the Earth Defense Force, where he becomes the new pilot for the white Core Robot. To cover up his true identity, Kazuki claims to be Mitsukis younger brother. However, there seems to be no equivalent version of Kazuki Yotsuga in this world. Later on, Kazuki unintentionally awakens one of the original alien mechas, known as Zinv. It's revealed that Zinv is his counterpart from the parallel universe. Kazuki embodies the archetypal harem anime protagonist - he's reserved, introverted, and clumsy but possesses incredible combat skills and an illogical charm that attracts a multitude of beautiful women. When Zinv is destroyed, Kazuki's desire to preserve the group leads to the creation of a new world where elements from both universes are combined. In Tenchi Muyo!, Kazuki Yotsuga is actually the great-great-grandfather of Tenchi.
