Loki's second son, Jormungand, transforms into a polite and bespectacled teenager who serves as his housekeeper, cook, and assistant. He enjoys performing domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning. In the anime, he also has an amusing obsession with ordering unnecessary items from mail-order catalogs. His true form is that of a giant serpent that encircles the Earth, known as the Midgard serpent. Loki rescued Yamino from the depths of the sea by casting a spell on him to give him human form so he could accompany his father on Earth. Jormungand is eternally grateful for this act and wears glasses as a reference to the Indian cobra, also known as "glasses snake" in Japanese. The revelation of Yamino's true identity occurs earlier in the manga than the anime and plays a significant role in his characterization during the first series.
