Meet Higuchi Yuuya, an 19-year-old hacker/detective who works for the police. He played a crucial role in the HAL arc and is known for his far-sightedness, although he only wears glasses while using the computer. Despite this, he feels responsible for his parents' deaths as it was his hacking skills that led them to shut down an online video game they were addicted to, which resulted in their suicide. During the HAL arc, he became one of HAL's guardians after being infected with the Electronic Drug, but due to wearing glasses with polarized lenses specially made to protect himself from it, only half of the infection took effect. Afterward, he had to undergo anti-virus sessions on how to be polite while drugged, although he still remembered how to make the Electronic Drug and used it comically on a supervisor who was overbearing. However, this was discovered and he was subjected to another session with the anti-virus for twice as long to forget how to create it.
