At school, Shinichi has a friend named Tenko who is also friends with someone called Samatarou. Shinichi enjoys talking about girls and frequently uses English phrases when he gets excited, which happens often. His classmates see him as somewhat foolish, although they like him overall. Eventually, Shinichi develops a romantic relationship with Ai Tachibana, despite the disapproval of Samatarou and Tenko. Although they feel uneasy about it and sometimes complain, Ai seems to be happy in the relationship.
