The man who hosts every Tenka-ichi Budokai from the beginning of Dragon Ball to the end of Dragon Ball Z is a commentator who has become an acquaintance with the Z Warriors over time. He knows that they are responsible for saving Earth and even says so in one episode, although it was actually Son Gohan who destroyed Cell. Despite doubting Mr. Satans abilities, such as when Vegeta went out of control, he remains a central figure in every tournament except the 21st. In the King Piccolo Saga, he witnesses Kuririn being murdered by Tambourine and later becomes important as he sees Son Goku fighting with Piccolo from the sidelines. As Dragon Ball Z comes to an end, his age starts to show with noticeable wrinkles and hair loss, but in Dragon Ball GT, his descendants' hair remains white. Although he doubts Mr. Satans role in defeating Cell, he praises him to cheer up fans.
