Kuris biological mother was pregnant with him when she died. Her partner, who had promised to marry her, left her, causing her to develop resentment towards Kuri. She eventually killed him and then died herself as Shiro ripped out her throat. Despite this, even after death, she prevented Kuri from going to heaven because of her lingering resentment. Though she still pursues him, she is unable to reach him due to the barrier surrounding the Youkai Apartment.
