Rald is a small panda-like creature known as a Jewelpet. He has dark green eyes and wears a pink waistcoat and hat, along with a necklace adorned with a jewel. Over time, he grew to be twice his original size, making him the largest Jewelpet yet. In the first two seasons of the anime series, Rald is one of several lost Jewelpets in the human world. After Diana curses Rinkos parents into arguing, Rald appears before them and restores their love by becoming their partner. In later seasons, he continues to cause trouble for others as he searches for a partner to study magic with. In the New Years episode of Jewelpet Twinkle, he comes to the human world in search of his own magical partner. Akari tries to keep him hidden, but he still causes problems for her as she helps prepare a festival at school. In Sunshine, Rald is a student in the Plum class and is known for being very popular among his peers. Despite this, he struggles with loneliness and can become behemoth-sized when feeling isolated. This leads him to harm others, including the KiraDeco 5. However, he eventually forms a Magic Gem with Apel Yamada in Happiness. Throughout all of these seasons, Rald is often seen in the background or playing a supporting role.
