In middle school, Kyosuke had a classmate named Akumi who refused to attend classes. Despite several attempts, Kyosuke convinced her to come to school. To do this, he even forged her parents' signature on a permission slip so she could go on a field trip with him. However, during the trip, Akumi was injured after falling from a tree in an off-limits area that Kyosuke had brought her to. As a result of this incident, her parents moved her to another school and forbade Kyosuke from contacting her again. Three years later, Akumi found Kyosuke and confessed her feelings to him, but he rejected her.
