Mai is an intelligent scientist who works as one of Emperor Pilaf's assistants alongside Shu. While she is smarter than both Pilaf and Shu, her abilities are often overshadowed by their comical antics. Despite this, Mai plays a significant role in several Dragon Ball sagas, including those featuring the Emperor Pilaf, Red Ribbon Army, Fortuneteller Baba, King Piccolo, and Piccolo Junior. She returns briefly for two episodes in Dragon Ball GT, where she is shown to be older than her previous appearance.
