Baroness Magdalene Waverley, also known as Sarah and Lynns aunt, serves as the main antagonist in the story along with her children Thomas and Mary. She has a desire to marry Viscount Marble in order to elevate her family's social status within the nobility. Despite being aware of her children's wrongdoings, she chooses to ignore them while placing blame on Lynn. Her family is wealthy and possesses the means to pay off Georges debts.
