Alfredo Martini, the man who was bought by Citron, experienced cruelty and violence from his boss during his time with him. Despite being a heavy drinker and gambler himself, Citron drew a blade towards Matteo when he tried to buy Alfredo. This behavior of Citron caused Alfredo not to eat on certain days as the money meant for buying potatoes was wasted by Citron on liquors. Additionally, there was an instance where Citron threw a bottle and plate at Alfredo while cleaning the floor in their home. The cruelty and violence inflicted by Citron greatly contributed to the early death of Alfredo Martini, the leader of the Black Brothers.
