In the North kai's kingdom, there is a monkey named Bubbles who serves as a pet to King Kai. During training sessions, particularly during endurance tests, trainees are required to chase after Bubbles in order to catch him. This task pushes them to their limits by requiring them to exert themselves ten times the force of Earth's gravity. Gokuu spends 40 days working on this test, while Piccolo, who later dies at the hands of Nappa and Vegeta and is sent to train with King Kai in Other World, catches Bubbles almost effortlessly during his time training with Gohan. This causes King Kai to express frustration that the test was not intended for Piccolo but rather for Yamcha, Tenshinhan, and Chiaotzu.
