The man's son works multiple jobs, including delivering newspapers and hosting events, to pay off his father's business debt. This situation is similar to Higashida's in that he considers the job at Wagnaria to be the most important since it provides him with free leftovers. His father owns a butcher shop whose display can be quite gruesome. Shindō and Shiho have known each other since childhood, and although he rejected her, she continues to torment him because of her father's business debt with his company. Despite being oblivious to Shihos feelings for him, he is still bullied by her out of frustration.
