Joseki is a senior from Sunagakure who prioritized tranquility in his village. He felt uneasy about Gaara's appointment as Kazekage due to his perception of him as an unsuccessful and dangerous experiment. After the kidnapping of the current Kazekage by Akatsuki, Joseki believed it could be beneficial for the village and suggested electing a new one promptly.
