Santa Claus is a character who first appeared in A Christmas Story but later became more popular. He performs various jobs such as being a doctor, taxi driver, and shopkeeper. His primary role is to provide comic relief. Often, he unintentionally becomes an unwitting victim of Pucca when she pursues Garu. For instance, in one episode, Santa dressed up like Garu to obtain chocolates from Pucca, only to be beaten with a tree afterward. In another episode, Santa was shown signing up to become a ninja like Garu. He also sings the Christmas song "Jingle Bells," replacing the lyrics with his own laugh, "Ho ho ho." Despite appearing in most episodes, it has been revealed that before becoming Santa Claus, he was known as Red Lantern and worked alongside a ninja called Black Powder. Unlike the typical Santa Claus stereotype, he doesn't have a beard. Though Santa is often depicted as weak, he does fight using gingerbread as shuriken and cane as a staff. He also possesses a grenade filled with compressed Christmas items that explode when opened. His signature move is "Belly Bounce," where he uses his belly to hit the enemy, causing them to bounce back. Santa has been known to ruin occasions, such as cutting in during Pucca and Garu's wedding in Scenes From a Maul and thanking Garu for the present.
