The main character of the show is Masamichi, who is a Metal diver and has been friends with Eiichiro Kushima for a long time. During an accident while testing early Meta-Real technology, Masamichi was put into a coma for 50 years before waking up as an old man with paraplegia. Ever since then, he's been searching for the "answer in the sea".
