Ryusuke genda is the captain of the library task force and holds the rank of library supervisor third class. he played a significant role in drafting kasahara into the task force. as the leader, he had the final say on this matter. known for his strength, genda has even been thought to be capable of taking on a bear single-handedly. in addition to his military command skills and political acumen, such as providing media betterment act agents with copies of books and magazines during an operation, genda is also known for his easygoing personality. he can be impulsive at times, like when he bought a new building for the task force to use in rescuing kasahara and inamine from hostage situations. despite his intimidating appearance, genda has a close relationship with his subordinates and enjoys making fun of them on occasion. there are hints that he harbors romantic feelings for orikuchi maki, an old college friend who works as a journalist at weekly new world. when the magazine was facing potential banishment due to certain circumstances, genda declared that he would do everything in his power to protect it because it is dear to him.
