In the story, Mikiyasu was a Japanese professional golfer who won the Arizona Phoenix Open against Greg Norman just over a year before it began. However, his career ended following a car accident that left him unable to play golf. Despite this setback, he admires Dandoh's friends and agrees to teach them - Yuka, Kōhei, and himself - after they demonstrate their commitment and perseverance.
