In the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai tournament, a powerful Pteranodon monster named Giran competes against Son Goku. Despite being incredibly strong for his size, Goku eventually counters him and wins the match. While Giran is depicted as formidable in the anime, he receives more attention during a bar-fight scene where he beats off drunks who make fun of him for ordering milk. He introduces himself as "Kujirada" throughout the tournament. During the Piccolo Daimao arc, Tambourine confronts Giran due to Piccolos order to eliminate all past Tenkaichi Budokai competitors. Despite being strong, Giran is no match for Piccolos offspring and is quickly defeated. However, he is revived at the end of the saga thanks to the Dragon Balls.
