Yasuko is a well-known student at Matsuoka Girls High School. She's the captain of the basketball team, but Fumi initially mistakes her for being part of the Literature Club when they first meet. Yasuko has a significant presence in both Matsuoka and Fujigaya. Initially, she wanted to involve Fumi in her visits to Akira's school to replace Heathcliff since Fumi is almost as tall as she is. However, Yasuko soon developed a deeper interest in Fumi after their visit to Fujigaya Girls Academy and rejected Kyouko's confession. Eventually, Yasuko asked Fumi out, who accepted. Yasuko enjoys the arts immensely, as she is an accomplished artist, actor, and avid reader. Her confident demeanor could be due to subconscious conditioning from her upbringing as the youngest Sugimoto sister, constantly hearing praise for her older sisters Shinako, Kazusa, and Kuri. Despite appearing friendly and approachable in public, Yasuko can sometimes come across as bratty and sullen at home, particularly when in conflict with her third eldest sister, Kumi.
