Despite being initially focused on serving as Ieyasus sound aide in earlier titles, he eventually becomes more prominent as a general. Tadakatsu takes pride in his perfect record and challenges anyone who wants to defeat him in combat. He is also known for praising valiant fighters and acknowledging their achievements. Tadakatsu is not only a skilled warrior but also a formal and perceptive individual who values his spear, Tonbo-giri, as a trusted companion on the battlefield. In Japanese script, he rarely uses conventional pronouns, instead opting for his full name or samurai name. When he does use pronouns, he uses humble terms common with samurais in fiction. Tadakatsu is also deeply concerned about the safety of his daughters and looks up to her as an idol for conduct. He encourages her to focus on achieving their lord's vision with absolute dedication.
