A 4th-year student studying violin at the university has a father who owns a Chinese restaurant called "Uraken." Despite his own belief in the uniqueness of his playing style, others perceive it as careless. He views Chiaki, a fellow musician with an impressive image, as a rival for attention and tries to match him. On the other hand, he admires Nodame's free-spirited nature. As the concertmaster of the S Orchestra conducted by Chiaki and a violinist in the R☆S Orchestra, he is known for his innovative approach to music, which involves incorporating rock elements into classical performances (as suggested by Chiaki). He is currently dating Kiyora Miki.
