The character in question is Makas father, known as "Mama" by his daughter. He wields the Shinigamis current weapon and is fiercely protective of Maka. Despite being constantly stopped by the Shinigami, he is always ready to come to her aid whenever she needs it. His wife is Makas mother, but they are now divorced due to his infidelity. Despite this, he remains deeply loyal to both his ex-wife and daughter. He often runs around shouting about how much he loves them, referring to Maka's mother as "Mama." Although he is sad that his daughter hates him, he continues to try to be a good father by looking out for her in his own unique way. This character was once Dr. Frankens partner before marrying "Mama," who later became his wife. He still experiences nightmares about Dr. Franken trying to dissect him and has memories of college when he and Stein were roommates. His former name was Spirit.
