In Kou, after escaping from her captors, Youko Nakajima tries to rob Takki's house but gets caught. Takki shows mercy by explaining some general information about the Twelve Kingdoms and offers Youko a place in Kasai where her mother works. However, when she arrives in Kasai, Youko discovers that Takkis true intention is to sell her as a slave to his mother, who owns a brothel. Realizing this, Youko runs away. In the anime, Takki's role remains largely the same and she first appears in episode three. Like in the novel, Youko attempts to rob Takkis house with Yuka Sugimoto and Ikuya Asano present. Takki offers them food, clothing, and shelter but intends to sell them as slaves.
