Mitsune Konno, commonly known as "Kitsune" (meaning "fox" in Japanese), is a 19-year-old freelance writer with a penchant for mischief. She's often criticized for her lack of writing skills and is seen as a parasite single who lives off easy money. Kitsune enjoys teasing Keitaro, despite clearly caring for him. She has a close friendship with Naru and frequently tries to push them towards marriage. To make ends meet, she bets on horse races. In the anime, Kitsune speaks in an Osaka accent, which may suggest a connection between her sly personality and a common stereotype of people from that region.
