In the anime series "Hyouka," there is a character named Hikaru who attends the same elementary school and grade as the main heroine, Himeko. Despite their constant competition for Daichi's affections, Hikaru believes that there may be something between Himeko and Daichi, even when both characters deny it or try to convince her otherwise. This misunderstanding often leads to conflicts between the two females, with Hikaru usually being the cause. At various points in the series, Hikaru comes close to discovering Himeko's secret, but is ultimately thwarted.
