Jirocho is the leader of the Wasabi clan in Tea Land and has a long-standing feud with the Wagarashi clan. He is described as compassionate, truthful, and trustworthy, while Kiroku from the Wagarashi clan is portrayed as deceitful and manipulative. Jirocho was friends with Tsunade before he saved her debt to the Akagi family by appearing to tell Senta and Bunzou that it had been paid. He also took in Idate Morino, a young man who found him on the streets, and showed great faith in him, even risking his own life for Idate's sake while racing.
