    Dr. Tenma, also known as "Pegasus" or "Heaven-horse," was an esteemed roboticist and served as Japan's Minister of Science. After his son Tobio passed away in a car accident at the age of nine, he chose to bring him back to life as the indestructible robot known as Atom.
