Bakugan Battle Planet's main character is Dan Kouzo, who leads a group of kids known as The Awesome Ones. His primary partner is Pyrus Dragonoid (Drago), while Cyndeous and Kellion are his secondary and tertiary Bakugans respectively. The Awesome Ones create videos for the video platform ViewTube in Los Volmos, alongside Wynton Styles, Lia Venegas, and Lightning the dog. Twelve years after the Great Collision, they sneak into a restricted area of Pinpoint Park to film a commemorative video on its anniversary. During this time, they celebrate Dan's birthday with a surprise announcement. However, the second Great Collision occurs, causing them to experience the Hide Matrix for the first time. In this instance, Dan meets Drago, his new Bakugan partner. Afterward, Dan and The Awesome Ones continue filming videos for their ViewTube channel, which includes Dan, Wynton, Lia, Lightning, and their respective Bakugans - Drago, Trox, Gorthion, and Howlkor. They experiment with BakuCores to discover the abilities possible with them, which they share on their ViewTube channel.
