Shiro was a renowned bear-dog who fathered Riki and grandfathered Gin. For over a year, he and his owner Gohei battled numerous large bears. Although his death is briefly depicted in the anime of Ginga Nagareboshi Gin, he is only mentioned a few times in the manga version of the same series.
