One of Maeda's closest companions is someone who becomes enraged whenever anyone brings up their broad forehead. Despite being the only one in the series to have a steady romantic relationship, they frequently argue and quarrel with each other, accusing one another of infidelity. Their father operates a motorcycle repair shop, and Maeda often asks Katsuji to fix his mopeds and lend him pornographic films. Katsuji has been friends with Yoneji since childhood, although they started off as a bully towards each other.
