Orson, distinguished by a red jewel on his sword and brooch, is possessed by Hyuri, a spirit of war and rage. When his anger builds, such as when his companion Shiris is threatened, he becomes an unstoppable force capable of cutting through rock with the energy carried by his fury. Parn is shocked at Orson's intensity, but it is Shiris who ultimately calms him down. The Berserkers are known for their sheer rage, even to the Dark Elves. Their presence forces Pirotess and other Dark Elves to retreat, allowing Deedlit to be free. Later, when Parn leaves to warn other kingdoms, Orson and Shiris follow the darkening sky and find him in a terrible state. Recognizing Parn's concern for Deedlit, Orson suggests that while Parn heads for Marmo, he and Shiris ride to rally the other kingdoms of Lodoss against the threat.
