The protagonist in the story, a male character who attends school in both normal and magical worlds, has been described as "completely ordinary" across all aspects. In one scene where he was taking a retake summoning test, he accidentally called forth Tanarotte. Most of his experiences revolve around either Tanarotte's mischief or being sent on missions by Sakuma. Despite this, he often serves as the rational voice and finds ways to resolve conflicts without resorting to violence.
