Kagamine Rin/Len are fictional characters from the second installment of Cryptons Vocaloid Character Voice Series. They were voiced by Asami Shimoda, who is also known for her work in other anime and video games. The package containing their voice banks was released on December 27, 2007. Kagamine Rin/Len are portrayed as twins or reflections depending on the person viewing them or the song being performed. Their family name was chosen by combining "kagami" (mirror) with the first syllables of their given names, creating a pun on "left" and "right." Despite having two voice banks, Kagamine Rin/Len sell at the same price as Hatsune Miku. The characters made a cameo appearance in an anime called Zoku Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei, where they tried out to be the voice of Meru Otonashi.
