The character who first appears in Shin's minions in the manga is Spade. Kenshiro initially encounters him after Misumi, resulting in the loss of his right eye when Kenshiro uses Nishi Shinku Ha to deflect an arrow from Spades bowgun back at him. Later, he attacks Misumis village as revenge for his earlier defeat. Despite hurrying back to the village, Kenshiro arrives too late to save Misumi from Spade. In the anime series, he is known as Jack of Spades, one of Kings other three lieutenants from the manga.
