An artisan who resides in Rifure Village creates Gym Badges. The character of Kinso was featured in "The Blue Badge of Courage." When Misty, Tracey, and Sakura visited his cabin seeking new Cascade Badges, they discovered him with an injured ankle. Following administering first aid, the group engaged in physical activity to create the badges and participate in a Pokémon battle to obtain Gym Badges. However, due to Psyduck's inability to swim, Misty's team faced difficulties, leading Kinso to refuse to provide them with gym badges. Later, two boys stole the badges that were created by Kinso, including those made by Misty, Tracey, and Sakura. The group assisted Kinso in recovering his stolen badges, which he later awarded to Misty after witnessing her Psyduck defeat the thieves' Pokémon.
