Ryouma Nagare  

Hummer, Ryou, 流 竜馬

Ryoma is the main character in many Getter Robo adaptations. In the original manga, he was portrayed as an extremely violent martial artist who sought revenge on Professor Saotomes assistants after they disgraced his fathers name by entering a karate tournament. Impressed with Ryomas abilities, Saotome sent three hitmen to test him. Ryoma killed all three men and was subsequently kidnapped by Saotome and taken to his research center. There he met Saotome and his daughter and son, Michiru and Tatsuhito. Soon after, the research institute was attacked by dinosaurs, resulting in the death of many staff members including Tatsuhito. Saotome tasked Ryoma with piloting the incomplete Getter Robo in place of Tatsuhito against the attacking dinosaur empire. Ryoma successfully completed this mission and continued to serve as the leader of the Getter Team. In the TV adaptation, Ryomas character underwent a significant change. He is now portrayed as an easy-going football player rather than a violent martial artist.
