Colonel Dan Dastun, previously Major in the first season, leads the Military Police unit. Though he was once Rogers' commander, they maintain contact despite his departure from the force. Dastun feels resentment towards being labeled as the "watchdogs" of Paradigm Corporation and has expressed disdain for its executives. He is proud to be a member of the military police but clashes with Roger after he resigns, particularly when Big O appears. Initially, his irritation stems from Big O's vigilante nature, but as the series progresses, he reveals that it's because the Military Police can't adequately protect the city due to frequent Megadeus attacks, requiring Big O to intervene frequently. Despite this, Dastun comes to accept this reality in season 2. He is one of the few characters who knows about Rogers' association with Big O and is the only such character within the military police. He learned of this information before season 2 but discusses it directly with Roger only once.
