A skilled ninja with a light-brown/dark-blonde mop top and goatee is introduced in episode 37 of the anime series "Gintama." He was previously seen as an assistant to a conman in episode 36. Originally from the Oniwabanshu, he is familiar with Ayame and has been associated with Gintoki since then. This ninja is the first character in the show to match Gintoki's skill and dedication to Jump. He suffers from hemorrhoids and leads a freelance team of ninjas known as "Shinobi 5." His father, who is said to be the strongest man in Oniwabanshu, was an instructor for many, including Ayame Sarutobi. The character's name is inspired by Hattori Hanzou, a famous ninja from Iga.
