In girlfriend of steel, mana kirishima (霧島 マナ) is portrayed as shinjis love interest and is voiced by megumi hayashibara. she possesses traits similar to both rei and asuka and operates the t-riden-t land cruiser. in class with shinji, she enrolls alongside him. asuka becomes highly jealous of her presence. like many other evangelion characters, mana kirishimas family name stems from a world war ii warship. additionally, she features in the shinji ikari raising project.
