One of Toyo's orphans, Taki, was raised by Bats and became his younger brother. In search of someone capable of drilling their well, Taki left the village and wandered for so long that he became partially sighted. He almost fell to his death until Kenshiro saved him. Later, Taki reunited with Kenshiro, Bat, and Lin in Oasis. After returning to Toyo's village with them, Taki sneaked out at night to steal water from a neighboring village. Kenshiro followed after him but arrived too late to save Taki from being killed by a thug with a crossbow.
