Seta Corporation was a Japanese video game development and publishing company that was established in Tokyo in 1985 and dissolved in 2009. Seta focused primarily on developing games for Nintendo consoles such as the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, with a focus on golf and puzzles. They were known for creating custom hardware enhancements for these consoles, including enhancement chips, modems, and bio sensors. Seta also developed development tools for Nintendo consoles and created arcade systems such as Aleck 64 and assisted in producing SSV. In 1999, Seta became a subsidiary of Aruze. However, Seta withdrew from the game business in 2004 after releasing Legend of Golfer on the GameCube. Due to Japan's economic downturn, Seta officially closed in January 2009 and its assets were absorbed by Aruze. Seta was later liquidated at the Tokyo District Court in May 2009.
