Launching a new high school manga featuring Haré+Guu/Liar x Liar's Renjuro Kindaichi is planned.
On April 25th, the film "Marriage Story," directed by Noah Baumbach, will be released worldwide.
On Tuesday, it was revealed in the May edition of Kodansha's Kiss magazine that Renjuro Kindaichi will start a new manga series called Kimi wa Sekai no Chūshin Desu (You Are the Center of the World) in their upcoming April 25th issue.
In the movie titled "Marriage Story," we follow the journey of Nonoko, a high school student who has just turned 18. She attends school with her childhood friend Yoichi, but they haven't spoken properly in years. However, they are reminded of a promise they made as children when they stumble upon it during their conversation. In the film, they are shown holding a traditional Japanese marriage registration form.
In January 2018, Kindaichi began publishing his manga series "N to S" in Kodansha's "Dessert" magazine. This series continued until its conclusion in 2023.
In 2010, Kindaichi started the Liar x Liar manga series which ran until July 2017. Kodansha published the final compiled book volume of the series in September 2017. In 2012, the manga ranked #10 on Takarajimasha Inc.'s list of top mangas. It was also nominated for the 39th annual Kodansha Manga Awards in 2015.
In 1996, Kindaichi released the manga series "Jungle wa Itsumo Hare Nochi Guu" which later inspired the television series "Haré+Guu" as well as two original video anime series "Haré+Guu Deluxe" and "Jungle Wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu Final". AN Entertainment licensed these series for distribution in North America. Additionally, Kindaichi serialized his "LaLaLa" manga in Square Enix 's "Young Gangan" magazine. Currently, his "Yūbe wa Otanoshimi Deshita ne" (It Was Fun Last Night) manga is being published on Gangan Online, while Square Enix 's "Manga UP! Global service added "Rooming with a Gamer Gal" under the English title in December 2023.
